SMILES
Because I am such a sensitive man, this
time of year is always emotional for me. Not in a bad way at all, it brings
into my thoughts of the young ones building their memories now. And it makes me
wonder if I AM DOING ALL I CAN to help make THIER MEMORIES as SPECIAL as the
ones I have of the days when I was at their age. I like to take the time to
watch them open presents and get all excited. Things that you would think are
silly would make them laugh and giggle. For me, it’s all about the SMILES on THOSE
SWEET LITTLE FACES.
As time passes and these children grow.
They come into the next stage of life. In their memories they are not going to
remember all of the gifts that they have gotten in the past, though they will
remember some. They are going to remember the excitement of this time.
Soon they will walk through the door of
maturity and that’s where I am and have been for awhile now or at least I would
like to think I’m there. At this stage, my memories are NOT of all of the
things that I have gotten. But instead, of all that I have been given. In order
for someone to give you a thing, they first have to THINK of you. The THOUGHT ALONE
is MY GIFT and its one that I CHERISH. The phone call that comes just to say
hello, the Facebook tag in a picture, the text with that cute little happy face
or any number of situations that does not require you giving me a thing.
I would like for you to think back to
those times when you were young and so excited about this time of year. Do you
think of the presents that you received or does your memories include the ones
who thought of you? Was it someone still with you today? If so, make that phone
call; send that cute little happy face text or ( if you are near them ) you can
give them something that’s free, from way down deep and they will feel the love
of that gift. It’s simple really, a heartfelt hug.
For those of you who may not think about
it, I’m going to bring it up. We ALL have memories of loved ones no longer with
us. We cannot give them things, how could we, they’re not with us anymore. But
we can GIVE them our THOUGHTS, for me, this shows how powerful and special just
giving thought and thinking of someone can be.
Seeing SMILES on my FAMILIES FACES MEANS MORE
to ME than I care to EXPLAIN. So here are my thoughts for each and everyone.
MAY YOUR HOME be FILLED with SMILES!!
If you took the time to read
this, guess what, you just made me Smile, Thanks,
Doug
